Goal

To feed hungry children both physically and spiritually with a hot meal and Bible study 5 days a week.

Project Overview

Global Cross has been supporting ministry and missions in Tepano and Diriamba since the fall of 2014. There is a need to help many children get a hot meal. Many children are told to leave the home when they are 9-12 years old to find a job or a husband. This is because the parents can no longer feed them and take care of their needs. Lots of families in this area only get a meal 3-4 times a week. The meals they do get do not provide the nourishment they need to prevent diseases and sickness.

Current Status

Since October 2015, we have operated a feeding kitchen in Tepano for the children. We have approximately 35-40 children coming five days a week to get fed physically and spiritually. We see a lot of fruit from this ministry as the children are reciting Bible verses, singing, and most importantly, many have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. God opened doors for us to establish another feeding kitchen in Diriamba. It is about 20 miles from Tepano and we average around 16 children in that location. We currently have many children waiting to be sponsored. With each sponsorship of $30 a month, a child will receive a hot meal 5 days a week, a Bible class in their school, school supplies, and certain medicines when needed.

Our goal is to feed each child 5 meals a week that consist of rice, beans, and bread. Three of those meals will include a meat. Please consider making a monthly donation.
