Global Cross wants to respect the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information. We have taken reasonable steps to protect and use it in the way it was intended when it was collected. We do not sale or distribute your personal information. We have tried to write our privacy policy in a way that humans, not just lawyers, can understand it. This is why some of the really technical information is absent.
Browsing the Website
When you visit our website, the web server collects anonymous information such as your IP address, browser, where you came from, what pages you viewed etc. This information helps us to understand how the website is performing and also learn more about how our visitors use it so we can improve it going forward. We do not identify you personally with this information.
Contact Form
When you send Global Cross an email through the form on the Contact page, you include your name, email address, and a message. We only use this information for the purpose of replying to you. We do not add you to a mailing list if you send us a message.
Making A Donation
There are two ways to donate on this website. You can make a monetary and technology donations. Both require you to submit your credit card information. We utilize Squarespace for our donation features. Squarespace uses Stripe as the secure payment backend. Stripe is PCI-Compliant, uses SSL encryption, and ensures Global Cross does not carry the risk of storing donor credit card information. You can read more about Stripe's security considerations.
If we have a question about your donation, we may contact you via phone or email. Also, if you make a monetary donation, we are required to mail you a year-end statement for tax reasons.
Subscribing to the Mailing List
In the right column of several pages on the website, you will notice a small form that allows visitors to submit their email address. We use your email address only for the purpose of delivering information about Global Cross via email. We communicate with our mailing list subscribers using MailChimp. When you submit your email address to us, we save it with MailChimp. To ensure you are not mistakenly added to our mailing list, we use a double opt-in process for reasons that benefit Global Cross and our subscribers.
